First of all we know Q’in was a total financial disaster. I do not think it would take an independant CPA to figure our how deep a hole that joke dug for the city.
Cenlabration was a much better name for a festival held to PROMOTE Central Louisiana.
Lisa Harris was a good promoter for the city. I was involved in serveral events she put together. Most of them were well thought out and successful.
Q’in was not. It ended up a money pit. How much the city lost will probably never come to light.
I have said it before and I am saying it again. If you are going to have a community event to promote Central Louisiana, Do not play to one race..Include something for all races. It is not a white, black or brown event it is something for everyone… We seem to have lost sight of that important rule.
Why not put together a committee to work on an agenda fo something like this…NO community leaders..Just peple off the street and some people who have worked with show promoting…FORGET the community leaders, politicians and so-called important people. Get some public input for a change..(I know there is no way in hell that scenario will happen, but one can dream.)
We will never progress here in Central Louisiana untill we get rid of some of our self-appointed ”experts” and start working together as a team.
The news has been slow locally. Perhaps it will begin to pick up a bit as the new year begins to move a little faster. Lay off the new council member at least untill he hs a chance to prove himself…Who know’s he may surprise everyone. But to say he would sell out for just two or three cents is past absurd.
Anyway, I have babbled and ranted enough for today… Guess I will go back to my nice padded cell and take a nap.
Alex
