The Louisiana History Museum, Tuesday will place on sale a definitive DVD on the Hotel Bentley from 1908 till now.
A history in photographs of the original interior and its decorations.
When built in 1908 the Bentley was completely self sufficient with an electric generating plant, ice house and even print shop.
See the original interior furnishings. The barber shop, cafe, bar and restaurant.
Hear the “ Hotel Bentley March” by Carlos Greig. A march composed for the grand opening of the Bentley in 1908. It is recreated for the first time in 100 years on this DVD.
Vintage photographs never before seen by the general public.
Director Dale Genius of the Louisiana History Museum spent over six months putting this history DVD together.
Hear “Alexandria my home town” A song published in 1969 and recently rediscovered.
The DVD is 16 minutes in length. Cost is a $15.00 donation to the Louisiana History Museum.
All proceeds from the DVD will go to the museum operating fund.
