Investigative reporting..whatever happened to it?

November 4, 2009 · Leave a Comment

It has been several days since the City Council Food fiasco started.

A good newspaper would have put a reporter on the story the moment they got wind of it.

I fondly remember when the old Town Talk would have been on it like a swarm of bees.

Todays top story.

Two Baptist Churches swap buildings. (Front Page Story)

A number of the old reporters were friends of mine.

They loved to get story like the city council’s extravagance.

Even a rumor would get them in gear.

I invite you to keep track of the major local stories they run. (Sports and Local meetings do not count)

Most of what the Town Talk print’s  is AP or other national feature canned story’s of generic nature.

A good paper can survive and flourish if it concentrates on what it was started for in the beginning…local news…

Will they pick up on the food expense story?

Let’s  start counting the days.

Untill then, the only real reporting I see is from the internet media.

And dare I say, a few of them are  silent?
