Alexandria is running out of patience.

In watching the new city council on public access 4, Suddenlink,. I am beginning to get truly troubled to say the least.

It is my understanding that the city council is elected  to have the best interest of the city of Alexandria at heart, not just the section of the city they represent.

They should work together with the city as a whole as their primary interest. This is what they are elected to do.

Special interest should not enter into their agenda.

They should work with the mayor  to further the day to day workings of Alexandria.

It is more than obvious this is not what most of the councilmen  think they should do.

At the moment, because of some newly elected  people, it seems there is an alpha-dog issue as to who or whom is the most disruptive.

I have said before that the rights to the recorded meetings should be sold as a reality show to some nitwit network to bring in more revenue for the city budget.

I  still hold by that comment. (My previous post entitled “The Late Night Show.”) Friday July 25, 2008…

There is almost total disrespect for our elected Mayor, who to me.. is doing a balanced and commendable job.

Now don’t get me wrong, there are perhaps at the best 2 or perhaps 3 members of the city council who have a  grasp of the day to day workings of our complex city government.

The balance are as I have said before are totally clueless!

They are not interested in the city as a whole, just the section they  try so haplessly to pretend to represent.

In a lot of cases you could drag a person off the street who would have a better idea of what is going on in some of the so called meetings.

I know a lot of other people feel as I do.  They are just afraid to express their disgust.

Our elected Mayor is trying his best, but most of the time he is preaching to a brick wall.

I understand that most of the time he is talking over the heads of some of the council members.

But  because they have been elected by the citizens of Alexandria, perhaps they should bring a dictionary to the meetings and try to understand  him and what is going on.

This constant conflict and  for lack of a better word, bullshit, has got to stop.
