I had an uncle that lived in Oklahoma City, he was the president of a Geophysical Company there. For those of you not savy of the Geophysical part, He explored for oil and gas deposits all over the United States. He passed away about 15 years ago. I remember riding in the car with him several years before he died. During the 1970’s gas problems. His comments to me I remember to this day.
They were plain and straight forward.
#1. We are restricted from building new refineries because the government and environmentalist have put a choke hold on new plants. To build a new refinery would be cost prohibitive because of the restrictions…Blame Congress and the Senate and the lobbyist and environmentalist for that! Not the past or current or future President..
#2 There is more oil and natural gas under the ground than the next 20 generations can consume here in the U.S., alone. Not counting Alaska.
#3 His company had done work in New Mexico, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas,Colorado and several other states. He told me that every single state had areas of deposits that have never been explored. Its there, the big oil companies will not drill.
Its a sad story, but a true one and everyone knows this, but refuses to pressure anyone on it.
I myself have interest in several oil & gas well’s in Louisiana, and guess what? They are pumping them at about 1/3 capacity.. I don’t make enough to cover my automotive gas for a month..
Gas will probably hit $5.00 a gallon by next year.. When are WE going to wake up and see the light?
Probably never..Everyone has gas pains….
