What gets me about the whole deal is the fact that most of the candidates have an ulterior motive in their running. Lawyers, Real estate developers. People who if you look real hard have a reason to run, by which they gain.
Please don’t throw your hands up and say not me…

There are still a few days left. Its time to have a few dedicated public servants who will not stick their hand in the cookie jar, step up to the plate.
I know the anwser. Why should I get involved in that mess?
Suprise everyone, break the endless cycle and run instead of being one of those that just finds reason to complain all the time…

No, honestly I did not know this fact……. I am talking to a good friend this morning and we were talking about tourism.
How to get people to come to this neck of the woods.
He said, did you know the first railroad west of the Mississippi started here in Alexandria in 1835? Build by a fellow by the name of Ralph Smith-Smith. SECOND railroad built in the United States. Ran from down town by the river to the old cotton plantations near race horse -ville.
I said well, why don’t we capitalise on that? He said, thats something I always wondered about too..
So that makes two of us. Anyone else wonder why we dont take advantage of that fact??

Uglest building in Alexandria.
Usually late at nite when I can’t sleep , I turn on the TV and watch channel four.
Now with all the populatary of reality show these days, I have stumbled on a way for the city of Alexandria to take in more revenue.
No… really, its true! They could syndicate the show and sell it to the comedy channel or real TV.
Its habit forming. You don’t know what is going to happen next. Its spell binding! Full of excitement! Call it “THE CITY COUNCIL”..
Now don’t get me wrong. I have nothing against any of them, but put them together and sometimes you have a three ring circus. Not as good as John K. was. John K. on tv would have made the city a billion dollars. It would still be in reruns to this day…
I knew John K. and believe you me, none of them can measure up to his pure showmanship!
Take time to watch it one night.
